Over the years we've shared many different and delicious recipes with you – we've even shared a few smoothie recipes. Smoothies are delicious and easy to make, which are great reasons for adding them to your daily meal plan. Another awesome benefit of the smoothie is how nutritious they are.

TV, magazines and blogs are positively abuzz with sensation about smoothies. Everyone from Oprah to mommy bloggers are talking about the benefits of smoothies. We care about your overall well-being, so in this issue of balance we want to share with you 10 reasons you and your family should consider drinking green smoothies. We've also included a couple of our team's favourite smoothie recipes.

The Wonderful Benefits of Green Smoothies

1. They're a great way to get more greens into your diet. How many of us would sit down and eat a bunch of spinach or kale? But you
can easily consume a large amount of

Apple Smoothie

Serves 3 - 4

2 apples
(cored, but leave the skin on them)
2 BIG handfuls of spinach
1 medium cucumber
3 sticks of chopped celery
1/2 inch or teaspoon ginger root, peeled
1 bunch parsley
Juice of 1 lime
Juice of 1/2 lemon

Macy's Mango
Dream Smoothie

Serves 2

2 cups fresh spinach, washed
1 banana, frozen
(I cut mine into chunks before I freeze them)
1 cup peeled and chopped mango
6 natural almonds
1 cup fat free soy or rice milk
1 cup fat free vanilla yogurt
