For Posterity's Sake

With the holiday season behind us, you've likely captured many photos and video memories on different devices. It could've been a long verdue family get-together or perhaps your son's first Christmas morning.

Memories like these are precious and they're something that we want to be able to enjoy later. No matter what the event is or the motivation for capturing it, you want to make sure to preserve it.

A lot of pictures and video we record are done on our phones, tablets and digital cameras. These devices catch these moments and store them as data in their own internal memory. We then generally end up downloading this data onto our home computer.

Unfortunately, computers do crash. What would happen to all that information if yours crashed? The easiest way for you to make sure all the information on your computer is safe is to make a backup of it. A reliable way to do that is to use an external drive.

External drives connect to your computer by USB or bluetooth. They usually contain built-in software to backup all the files and folders automatically. These devices are affordable, por table and can hold enormous amounts of data. This is probably the

easiest and most reliable way to make a backup of your computer.

The best advice is to visit your local computer store and talk to one of their computer specialists. Let them know if you have a Mac or PC and what kinds of files you want to back up. Ask if you aren't sure about something, like what a USB is or how to connect the external drive.

The peace of mind that comes from knowing all those memory-making moments are safely backed up is worth every dollar you'll spend.
